Phosphene and Phosphyne Nomenclature

The names of acyclic phosphenes and phosphynes are derived from those of the corresponding hydrocarbons as indicated below (see also Sections 6.14 and 6.15). 

Oxophosphines and dioxophosphoranes are considered in these sections, although strictly speaking, they are organophosphanes according to the definition in Table 4.1. 

The substitution of trivalent P in nnsatnrated hydrocarbons can, in principle at least, lead to a multitude of possible isomers. They can be derived by replacing -CHj with -PH2, =CH2 with =PH and =CH with =P (Table 6.5).
