Phosphates inorganic ortho

Inorganic phosphates, both ortho- and condensed phosphates, are highly ionized. [Pg.30]

B ZDDP + polyisobutylene succinimide dispersant + calcium carbonate-phenate [Ca] = 890 ppm Composed of inorganic, low molecular weight amorphous short chain ortho-(P043 ) and pyro- (P2074 ) phosphates ( 20% of zinc was replaced by calcium in phosphate tribofilm)... [Pg.110]

The alteration of mineral and casein equilibria is reflected in changes to the physical properties of milk. The addition of citrate and different types of phosphates (ortho-, pyro-, or hexameta) to milk protein concentrate solutions, which alters the distribution of calcium and inorganic phosphate between the colloidal and serum phases of milk, affects its turbidity and buffering capacity (Mizuno and Lucey, 2005). The turbidity is affected because dissolution of colloidal calcium phosphate is accompanied by release of caseins into the serum. [Pg.13]

Especially in the field of dental care products, inorganic phosphates and fluorides are used. The combination of F NMR spectroscopy and P NMR spectroscopy makes it possible to determine simultaneously the content of fluoride and monofluorophosphate in the presence of ortho-, meta- and pyrophosphate [2]. [Pg.56]

Phosporus exists in the sea in the form of ions of (ortho) phosphoric acid, H3PO4. About 10% of the inorganic phosphate in seawater is present as PO4 and practically all the remaining phosphate exists as HPO4. The condensed phosphoric acids, L, diphosphoric acid, H4P2O7, and all polyphosphoric adds with P-O-P linkages, have so far not been detected in open seawaters but are known to occur in estuarine and coastal waters as a result of pollution with detergents. [Pg.160]

In the US, doses of ortho-phosphate, in any form, in excess of a 1 mg/1 (P) residual, are often necessary to control cuprosolvency in high dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC >40 mg C/L) waters, particularly in new plumbing. [Pg.64]
