Phosphan 2-Amino-alkyl

In contrast to trivalent phosphorus compounds with activated bonds, where insertion occurs, phosphanes bearing only alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, secondary amino, thio, and halogeno ligands are oxidized by HFA. Earlier work was reviewed by Ramirez (276) in 1970 and Hellwinkel 139) in 1972. The following scheme [Eq. (43)] shows all reactions occurring in the phosphane/HFA system.
