Phenyl Phenacyl Sulphide

Phenyl phenacyl sulphide has also been reported to be a good photoinitiator for the polymerization of methyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile, styrene, and vinyl acetate (30). 

In the case of oxidation of phenacyl phenyl sulphide, PhSCD2COPh, with hepatic rabbit liver microsomes at 36 °C in H20, only a small deuterium kinetic isotope effect, kH/kD = 1.2, has been found. In the reaction with Fenton s reagent, kH/kD = 1.3. 

NCN=C(SR)S (R = alkyl) react with chloroacetamide to give the amino-thiazoles (583). Irradiation of 2-phenyl-2-thiazoline (584) in acetonitrile leads to a mixture of the corresponding thiazole, benzonitrile, and ethylene sulphide. Heating the dithiobiuret Me2NCSNHCSNH2 with phenacyl bromide affords the 2,5 -bithiazole (585) in excellent yield. ...
