Phase One Integration Design

The main task in the first phase is to set goals at a suitably challenging level which has the backing of the entire new management team - a team that must be reasonably homogeneous and totally dedicated to the new company. This mindset must be embryonically present from the start, and will become increasingly established as the work goes on. 

The measures to be taken along these three dimensions can be divided into general goals and those for which industry knowledge is required (which we have called industry-specific ). We used this split in order to show which drivers are universally vahd in a form that can be applied in any industry and which drivers have to be adapted specifically to a given industry (Fig. 15.7).
