Perovskites, physical properties compositions

Many of the interstitial carbides are cubic and as a result of this have been examined in detail by the hardness technique with respect to anisotropy of behavior. As in the work with perovskite oxides (Section 6.3.3), there have been many studies made to investigate the relationship between composition and hardness because one of the fascinating aspects of these materials is the tremendously wide ranges in stoichiometry that are encountered, and the large changes in physical properties these introduce. [Pg.314]

Although several predictive methods exist for ionic compoimds [2,4-7], each has noticeable shortcomings. Very few systems allow the study of the relationship between stmctural changes and physical properties in such a clear way as ABX3 perovskites (X = oxide and halide) [4-10], In this review, we present past approaches that have been used for predicting composition-stmcture relationships for ABX3 compoimds. [Pg.464]
