Perfluorocarbonimidoyl difluorides

A variety of fragmentation reactions lead to perfluorocarbonimidoyl difluorides. For example, addition of trifluoronitrosomethane to tetra-fluoroethylene yields the oxazetidine derivative LXXV, which upon thermolysis or photolysis ( ) gives trifluoromethylcarbonimidoyl difluoride (LXXVI) and carbonyl fluoride. 

Dimerization involving the C=N double bond occurs readily with perfluorocarbonimidoyl difluorides Thus, the linear dimer CXXV is obtained from trifluoromethylcarbonimidoyl difluoride, and its structure was proven by Young and his co-workers Pyrolysis of CXXV at 500°C regenerates the monomeric carbonimidoyl difluoride ( ).
