Particle trajectory crossing critical

From the previous discussion it became clear that the description of inelastic atom-molecule collisions on crossing potential surfaces is a very difficult problem. Moreover trajectories on such surfaces are critically dependent on details of the surfaces and, in contrast with two particle collisions, the crossing region may be passed several times. In the next few paragraphs we will give a brief discussion of several methods which have been proposed to simplify this task.
