Pandanus amaryllifolius

The structures of two new pyrrolidine alkaloids, pandamarilactonine-A and -B isolated from Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb, have been deduced by Takayama and co-workers with the help of vicinal Jhc and /hh couplings. Girault and co-workers have determined conformations of free and ribosome-bound macrolide antibiotics using NMR and molecular modelling. The authors analysed Vhc and /hh couplings of the proline and sugar part of lincomydn and clindamycin and of the macrocycle as well as desosamine part of HMR 3647 (telithromycin). ... [Pg.168]

Pandamarine (343) was isolated as the major alkaloid in Pandanus amaryllifolius and its structure was determined by and 13C-NMR, and X-ray crystallography [724], Pandamarilactone-1 (344) was subsequently reported from P. amaryllifolius, its structure having been established by HRMS, 1R, UV, and one- and two-dimensional and 13C NMR [725],... [Pg.276]

Pandamarine (155) obtained from the leaves of Pandanus amaryllifolius (Pandanaceae), is surprisingly a racemic alkaloid, whose structure was determined by X-ray diffraction study (120). (See Fig. 15.)... [Pg.321]
