Ozone reacts very fast with NO (reaction (3)) which produces a cherrtilurrtinescence signal. This reaction can be used as a basis for a very sensitive and specific ozone in-stnrmerrL Also the chemiluminescence reaction between ozone and unsaturated hydrocarbons (e.g., ethylene) and other compounds has been used in instmmerrts to mea-sitre ozone in tropospheric air. These methods allow one to measure ozone with a very high time resolution which is important in mar airplane measuremerrts in research projects.
