Oxygen removal over

A tight membrane will remove over 99 per cent of dissolved salts but requires pressures of the order of 30 bar or more to function economically. A loose membrane may only take out 90 per cent of the salts but will function at around 5 bar or even less. Both types of membrane will remove all particulate matter and large molecules. Small, non-associated molecules such as silica and dissolved gases (i.e. oxygen and CO2) pass through unchanged. 

Bubbling of ozone improves Pb(II) removal over Pt Ti02 and allows the oxidation even on pure Ti02 in comparison with the same reaction under oxygen (Murruni et al., 2007). It is important to note that there is no Pb(II)... 

Experimental. Two sources of oxygen were employed tank oxygen passed over hot copper oxide and oxygen formed by the pyrolysis of potassium permanganate. Both sources gave equivalent results after the latter had been dried to remove the large quantity of water that was present.
