The total separation we have considered may be however an extreme case and the time delay introduced by a partial separation would naturally be smaller. The uncertainty on the carbon-oxygen phase diagram then appears to be a main difficulty for a reliable determination of the age of the Galactic disk using the white dwarf luminosity function. [Pg.89]

Thermodynamics. The copper-oxygen phase diagram has been assessed in detail including liquidus equilibria and solid solubilities (Hallstedt et al. 1994). Obtained standard Gibbs energies for the formation of copper oxides are given in table 12. Essential thermodynamic values for CuO and CU2O are listed in tables 13 and 14. [Pg.248]

A section of the iron-oxygen phase diagram is shown in Fig. 2.7. The dashed line represents a typical path for the manufacture and activation of an ammonia synthesis catalyst. All effects due to the promoter are omitted. [Pg.32]

Figure 2.7. Section of the iron-oxygen phase diagram m denotes magnetite, h hematite, and w wustite a and y stand for these modifications of iron metal. The dashed line describes the path of synthesis of the ammonia catalyst in the phase diagram. Figure 2.7. Metal-oxygen phase diagram studies show a great similarity to analogous Pu, Pr, and Tb systems, and indicate the possible existence of two additional Cm203 phases which have not yet been isolated [8,170]. Two intermediate oxides, CmOi.72 and CmOi.82, and two other non-stoichiometric phases close to the composition of Cm02 and CmOi.5 have also been detected [88]. A cubic (fee) phase, CmO, was reported in an early preparation of the metal [27]. [Pg.101]
