Oxidation of Perhaloalkyl Radicals

Marsh and Heicklen116 studied the room-temperature photooxidation of C2F5I. They varied the C2F5I and 02 pressures from 10 to 300 torr and found that the ratio of the products, CFzO and CF3CFO, was invariant [Pg.83]

The ratio k19jk20 was 20. The intermediate C2F502 was shown to have a lifetime in excess of 10 7 sec from experiments in which HI was also present. In these experiments 4 (CF20) was markedly reduced whereas 4 (CF3CFO) was enhanced. The indicated step was [Pg.84]
