Capillary electrophoresis differs from other electrophoretic methods in two principal ways  

Unlike GC or HPLC where all components migrate through the detector cell at constant flow, the signal and peak area in an electropherogram is dependent upon both analyte concentration and migration velocity— which is different and specific for each analyte.
