This chapter describes a variety of applications of lime products (Table 32.1) not included in Agriculture, food and food by-products (see Table 30.1), or Production of chemicals (see Table 31.1).

It is employed in two states in the one case the apparatus is termed the wet lime purifier, from the lime being made into a cream with water, and used in this condition tho other is known as the dry lime purifier, in which quick lime, barely slaked, is resorted to. Their comparative efficiency is matter of dispute among gas-makers.
