Other Manganese i Complexes

Other Manganese(i) Complexes.—[(7i-Cp)Mn(CO)3] reacts with PF3 in THF under u.v. irradiation to give a 70 % yield of [(7r-Cp)Mn(PF3)3]. Electrochemical studies on [Mn(CNR)g]PFg (R = Me. C H OMe, C H Me. CgH, or CgH Cl) indicate that all show two one-electron oxidations however, the methyl complex is much easier to oxidize than any of the corresponding aryls. 

Complexes. N- )o/ior Ligands. The reaction of manganese and the respective alkali metal in liquid ammonia yields the amide complexes M2Mn(NH2)4 (M = Na, K, Rb, or Cs). ° 

Manganese phthalocyanine (MnPc) can be reduced by Li in THF in the presence of stilbene in five steps. The compounds Li [MnPc],xTHF 

Other Manganese(i) Complexes.—Treatment of Mn(N03)2,6H20 with high-boiling isocyanides RNC (R = p-anisyl, p-tolyl, or benzyl) in methanol under vacuum yields [Mn(CNR)g](N03)2 and/or [Mn(CNR)g](N03). The bivalent products can be converted into the univalent state by treatment with aceto-nitrile.  

A structural study of Mn3[Cr(CN)g]2,JcH20 shows it to be closely related to other Prussian Blue analogues.
