Nylestriol is an estriol derivative (cyclopentylethinyles-triol), which has been tested in animals in combination with levonorgestrel as a potential agent for the treatment of post-menopausal osteoporosis. In a preliminary placebo-controlled study over 1 year using nylestriol 0.5 mg + levonorgestrel 0.15 mg once weekly in 119 patients, the combination produced no adverse effects on the uterus or breasts and there was no uterine bleeding... [Pg.173]
