Organoleads alkoxides

Whereas organotin alkoxides are well known and useful for different syntheses (189), little was known until recently about organolead alkoxides (52, 161, 273). Some compounds were mentioned before 1965 (4, 84) but since then Amberger and Honigschmidt-Grossich (10) and Davies and Puddephatt (42,44) have reported systematic investigations. Three methods are useful for the synthesis of trialkyllead alkoxides. [Pg.298]

Organolead derivatives prepared in recent years by one or more of the above reactions are the azides 208>, cyanides 123>, fulminates 45>, arsinates 171), sulfides 104>, alkoxides 242>, peroxides 263>, amines 231>, and phosphines, arsines, and stibines 280-281) The alkoxide 105>, hydride 231> and amine 231> derivatives of organolead undergo reaction with various unsaturated organic compounds to form novel organolead compounds, many of which are not synthesizable by other methods. [Pg.49]

This reaction is not useful for preparing trialkyllead(IV) alkoxides because the organolead oxides or hydroxides are less readily available, and decarboxylation is more difficult, but phenylmercury(II) alkoxides can be made in similar way from phenylmer-cury(II) hydroxide or oxide ... [Pg.723]
