Organocobalt O Complexes

The first synthesis of the cobalt carbonyl carbene dimer 27 has been achieved recently via a phosphine exchange by 

Co2(CO)2dppm (dppm = bisdiphenylphosphinomethane) has been used as a starting material for building the so-called C02C2 clusters the first step of the construction of such species is represented in Equation (4). The Co2(CO)6dppm complex has thus been used as an alternative to Co2(CO)8, whose reactions with alkynes to afford similar products such as 28 are well known.
