Organobismuth-oxygen compounds

Although few crystal structures of organobismuth-oxygen compounds have been determined, they suggest that self-assembly through Bi- -O bonds might be a widespread phenomenon. [Pg.287]

It can be seen that, as in many other supramolecular structures of organometallic compounds, the lipophilic organic groups wrap the inorganic chain, which is embedded in the interior of the helix. [Pg.287]

Bridging by OCeFs has also been found in dimeric [Bi(OC6F5)3]2 [462], a compound which does not contain a direct Bi-C bond. [Pg.287]

4 Supramolecular Self-Assembly by Formation of Secondary Bonds [Pg.288]

Secondary Bi- -O bonds (3.37 A) induce association of the molecules of bis(l-oxopyridine-2-thiolato)phenylbismuth into dimers [465]. The mesylamide derivative, [Ph2BiN(S02Me)2]2, is also a cyclic dimer, associated via Bi- -O bonds [466]. [Pg.288]

Group 15 - Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth 287 4.S.3.2 Organobismuth-oxygen compounds... [Pg.287]

Physical properties of a number of organobismuth complexes have been compiled. The triaUcylbismuth compounds are generally very oxygen sensitive, though stable to moisture. Many triarylbismuth compounds are air stable as well as stable to moisture. The triaUcyls with small R groups are colorless liquids, which may be distilled imder vacuum. Triphenylbismuth is a commercially available, air stable, white crystalline solid. [Pg.356]
