Organo-Silica Monoliths for Affinity Ligand Encapsulation... [Pg.391]

In principle, many organosilanes can be used as a second precursor to form the organo-silica monolith. Various coprecursors reported for the fabrication of hybrid organo-silica monolithic columns for EC or CEC are listed in Table 8.1. The structure of the organo-silica material is affected by the ratio of the tetralkoxysilane to the alkyltrialkoxysilane in the sol-gel reactions, the type of precursor used, and the processing parameters. This can be seen, for example, in the phase separation behavior of... [Pg.398]

The concept of establishing an optimized platform to construct the organo-silica monolith has been demonstrated using allyl functionality [95], although any other... [Pg.406]

Physical Characteristics of Organo-Silica Monolith as a Function of PEG in the Reaction ... [Pg.408]

Very recently, hierarchically arranged aerogel monoliths [209], silica-based monoliths from swollen liquid crystals [210] or heptane/water/ethanol/sodium dodecylsulfate microemulsion [211], monolith-based hybrid components such as the PMOs [212], and silicon oxycarbide monoliths with better thermal properties than the pure (organo) silica monoliths [213] have been reported. These approaches have been extended also to alumina or aluminumsilicates [214, 215], titania [216, 217], zirconia [218], or ceramic-based [219] systems. [Pg.65]
