Order scheduling Gantt charts

A colored Gantt chart of a possible schedule is shown in Fig. 3.7. Notice that no more than one operation of the same job is being processed at the same time and no machine is processing two operations at the same time. Also, the order of operations is maintained for each job across the schedule, as given in Fig. 3.6. Clearly this many possible schedules (block orders) satisfying the requirement, but it is needed to find the one with the shortest length (makespan). 

In this chapter, the order scheduling solutions for all cases of the different experiments are shown in Fig. 4.7. Based on the order scheduling solutions and the processing time of each process, the Gantt chart of processes being performed in different assembly fines can be obtained. The various activities can be placed into a Gantt chart or in a project management form to show when the activities would be scheduled. Activities may vary as to when they might be reviewed or actions taken and they do not have to be done in a specific order.
