Order of introducing reagents

These observations from the author s own experience indicate that the problem must be a very common one when new methods are developed. It is therefore astonishing that this general problem does not seem to have been subject to any systematic studies. Papers on new methods rarely mention that the order of introducing reagents has been studied. It can therefore not be excluded that promising new ideas have been abandoned too early, i.e. if an initial experiment failed to give the expected result, due to an inadvert order of introduction. [Pg.494]

A pecuUar but important problem is encountered when several reagents are to be introduced in sequence to the reaction mixture. It is sometimes found that the order of introduction is critical. To detect whether or not this is the case, a method for analyzing the order of introducing reagents was suggested in Chapter 18. [Pg.502]
