Optimization of Imprinting Conditions

For a newcomer to the field of molecular imprinting, the easiest way to approach the task of preparing a M IP is to search the literature and simply copy an existing protocol developed for a similar or non-similar template molecule. The resulting MIP will probably bind the template, but it will not necessarily be optimal in binding capacity and selectivity. 

In the experimental approach, the complex formation between the template and the functional monomer(s) is studied by spectroscopic methods such as NMR [116, 148-150] and UV [151]. The experiments are often performed as titrations where
