Ondansetron Rifampicin

Ondansetron may be the drug of choice in this patient as they are also suffering itch. As there is no change in the patient s metabolic function, a dose of 4-8 mg (50-100 pg/kg in children) two or three times daily could be used. Rifampicin may reduce the antiemetic effect. [Pg.220]

ONDANSETRON, TROPISETRON ANTIBIOTICS - RIFAMPICIN 1 levels of these drugs Induction of metabolism Watch for poor response to ondansetron and tropisetron consider using an alternative antiemetic... [Pg.208]

Rifampicin causes a minor reduction in dolasetron levels and a modest reduction in ondansetron levels, and may affect granisetron and tropisetron similarly, but does not appear to alter palonosetron levels. However, with the possible exception of ondansetron, none of the changes are thought to be clinically relevant. [Pg.1260]

Potent P450 inducers, including phenytoin, rifampicin, and carbamazepine, can significantly increase the clearance and decrease the blood concentration of ondansetron. However, there are not sufficient data to support dosage adjustment for patients taking these drugs. [Pg.400]
