Phosphine-olefin hybrid ligands developed by Hayashi 78 [73], Griitzmacher 79 [74] and Widhahn 80 [75], combined the beneficial aspects of both design concepts. Whereas, phosphine hgands ensure tight binding to the metal, olefins provide better opportunities for chiral discrimination (Figure 8.7).
