Oil collectors and skimmers

There are a large number of devices designed to collect or sponge up oil layers. The scope of use ranges from equipment in API separators to applications in ports or for oil spills. 

They are in no way used to purify water in depth and do not modify an emulsion. They are placed at the surface of a body of water that is assumed to be as calm and constant as possible and can only recover a preexisting, fairly thick slick of oil. 

According to the area involved (API, lagoon, port) and the water agitation (waves, wind), the device is chosen based on the manufacturer s actual experience. Among the models used in the refining and iron and steel industries, i.e. on a stable body of water, the following can be mentioned
