Octamethyl-1,4-cyclohexadiene

Octamethyl-1,4-cyclohexadiene has been shown to form a long-lived complex with NO+ (Borodkin, G. I. Elanov, L R. Podryvanov, V. A. Shakirov, M. M. Shubin, V. G., J. Am. Chem. Soc., 1995, 117, 12863-12864). Dynamic NMR evidence indicates that the complex is fluxional. A structure was postulated, based on semiempirical calculations, in which the NO+ is attached to a single ti bond. Use principles of orbital interaction theory to discuss the structure and bonding of such a complex (see also Figure 4.8 and question 4, Chapter 11). [Pg.273]

Octamethyl-l,4-cyclohexadiene has been shown to form a long-lived complex with NO+ (Borodkin, G. I. Elanov, E R. Podryvanov, V. A. Shakirov, M. M. Shubin,... [Pg.273]
