Numbers of Transfer Units—A Simplified Approach

An interesting simplification of the above procedure results when we use Eq. 7.3.7 for the linearized equilibria (for a binary system, M — (A jT) and Eqs. 8.8.16 for the mass transfer coefficients k = kT) to get (the vapor phase is assumed ideal) 

Note the presence of the ideal mass transfer coefficients and in place of the conventional and k.
