Furthermore, poly( mto, Jt< -2,3-dicarbomethoxynorborn-5-ene) (poly(cndo, Jt -2,3-(C02Me)2 NB)), poly(exo-c -2,3-dicarbomethoxynorborn-5-ene) (poly(exo-c -2,3-(C02Me)2NB)), and po y(endo, ex<9-2,3-dimethoxymethylnorborn-5-ene) (poly(cnrto, x -2,3-(MeOCH2)2NB)) prepared with the tert-butoxide-based Mo complex 16b are highly trans, that is, 90%, 95%, and 92% trans, respectively (Table 20.3), which is similar to the trans content of poly(mdo,cx( -5,6-Me2NB) prepared with 16b. By comparison, the trans-vinylene content is lower in similarly prepared polymers of norbornene, benzonorbornadiene (BNBD), exo-c -2,3-norbornenediol diacetate (exo-cw-2,3-(AcO)2NB), and exo-di-0,0 -isopropylidene-2,3-norbornenediol (exo-d.r-2,3-(ketal)NB) (Table 20.3)" and ranges from 60% to 79%.
