The distillation residues are combined and distilled (b.p. 70 73°/0.5 mm.), giving 326 g. (70% yield) of norbornadiene dimer. The pot residue solidifies when cooled to room temperature and crystallization from 95% ethanol gives 24.5 g. (5.3%) of norbornadiene trimer, m.p. 176-178°. [Pg.419]

Examples of the catalytic C-C bond-cleavage reaction by Ru(0) complex are limited, though some examples have been reported.
