Non-linear flux equations in electro-kinetic phenomena 

Volume flux of methanol and methanol-water mixtures through Dowex-1 (Cl ) form has been investigated when pressure difference and potential difference is simultaneously imposed. The following third-order non-linear phenomenological equation has been found to be adequate for the description of volume flux data  

Applicability of the above equation has been tested by using the flux data when [1] 

The first order and higher order coefficients were estimated from the data in order to check the consistency. These are recorded in Table 7.1 

There is good agreement as regards the first three coefficients. However, in the case of the last there is only agreement as regards order.
