Non-dimensional simulation parameters

In a simulation with only one atom type, all these terms are then one. Consequently, all calculations are substantially simplified (for example, in the calculation of the Lennard-Jones interaction, e = 1 and a = 1). Indeed a major benefit is that with non-dimensional parameters all numerical values in a simulation are of order magnitude 0(1).

Another benefit of using reduced units is that a single simulation of a Lennard-Jones fluid pertains to different actual system simulations. This then becomes an interesting illustration of the law of corresponding states.
