F-Donor Ligands. E.s.r. studies have shown that the family of [VOCl2(PR3)2] complexes (R = Me, Et, Pr, Bu, or Ph, or R3 = Ph Et) preferentially adopt a trigonal-bipyramidal rather than the square-pyramidal geometry usually typical of oxovanadium(iv) complexes. The adoption of this structure appears to be a consequence of the steric requirements of the phosphine ligands [cf. [VOCI,(Me3N)J.  [Pg.49]
