Nicotinic acid tannins

Phytochemistry Fruits contain sugars, pectins, organic acids (citric, tartaric, malic, and salicylic), fiber, tannins, rutin, nicotinic acid, flavonoids, and vitamins C, P, B, A, PP, E, and K. The leaves and branches contain flavonoids, tannins and ascorbic, malic, oxahc and lactic acids (Nuraliev 1989 Kurochkin 1998 Gudej and Tomczyk 2004). [Pg.218]

Other constituents reported present include asperuloside (0.05%), monotropein, tannins, anthracene and naphthalene derivatives, traces of nicotinic acid, fixed oil, and bitter principle, among others (list and horhammer merck). ... [Pg.622]

Scores of chemical compounds have been identified in unbumed tobacco. Basically it is cellulose. The cured product contains acids (citric, oxalic, formic), alkaloids (nicotine, anabasine, myosmine), and carbohydrates (lignin, pentosans, starch, sucrose), as well as tannin, ammonia, glutamine, and micro amounts of zinc, iodine, copper, manganese, and polonium-210. See cigarette tar smoke (4). [Pg.1248]

Phytochemistry The herb contains flavonoids (equisetrine, luteolin and glycosides of luteoUn, quercetin, kaempferol, etc.), up to 5 % saponins (equisetonin), alkaloids (equisetin and nicotine) resins, organic acids (malic, aconitic, and oxalic), up to 25 % silicic acid, carotene, vitamin C, tannins, etc. (Khalmatov et al. 1984 Oh et al. 2004). [Pg.104]
