Netherlands fallacy

This sort of analysis embodies the so-called "Netherlands fallacy." The fallacy lies in ignoring the dependence of densely populated areas on imports from less densely populated areas. 

Usingthe UK as a reference of course repeats the Netherlands fallacy (see above). These are not extreme reference cases Bangladesh extrapolates to a population of about 100 billion and Australia to 0.3 billion.
