Neodymium trichloride-tetrahydrofuran

Mercury(II) chloride (1.084 g, 4.00 mmol) and neodymium metal (0.86Sg, 6.00 mmol) are allowed to react as describe above, giving the pale blue title compound. Yield 0.560 g (58%).
