Nemst, Walter Hermann

This equation characterizes real voltage between elements of redox-couples and is usually called the Nemst equation after its author Walter Hermann Nernst (1864-1941). 

Walter Hermann Nemst (1864-1941). German chemist and physicist. Nemst s work was mainly on electrolyte solution and thermodynamics. He also invented an electric piano. Nemst was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1920 for his contribution to thermodynamics.
