Firth et al. have synthesized CdSe nanocrystals by application of microwave heating under mild conditions (258). They incorporated these nanocrystals directly into blends with a copolymer based on fluorene and carbazole building blocks. Spectral photocurrent and I-V characteristics demonstrated photovoltaic operation and charge generation of both the polymer and the CdSe nanoparticles. [Pg.57]
