Names Can Be Local or Global

When you assign a name to a cell or range in a workbook, the name is a global or workbook-level name. The name can be used in all sheets in the workbook. [Pg.69]

If you want to create a name that is a local or worksheet-level name, that is, one that is available only in a particular sheet, you can do so as described in the following box. [Pg.69]

To Assign a Local or Worksheet-Level Name to a Cell or Range [Pg.69]

First select the cell or range. (In this example Sheetl is the active sheet.) [Pg.69]

Choose Define... from the Name submenu to display the Define Name dialog box. Excel will propose a name in the Name box. [Pg.69]
