N-Octyl perchlorate

Distillation of mixtures with Ci -C3 alcohols gives the highly explosive alkyl perchlorates. Extreme shock-sensitivity is still shown by n-octyl perchlorate. [Pg.92]

Their sensitiveness to impact varies from 5 to 12.7 cm (5-kg weight) and decreases with an increase of the molecular weight. The ignition temperature varies from 150°C (n-pentyl perchlorate) to 350°C (n-octyl perchlorate). [Pg.448]
