N-Aryl-D-glucosylamines

The anomeric configuration of some N-aryl-D-glucosylamines has been established since the a-D-anomers showed Ji 2 couplings of ca. 4 c./sec. and the jS-D-anomers showed Jy 2 couplings of 8 c./sec. In all cases the equatorial proton resonance was at lower field than the axial proton resonance in accord with expectation.
