Multicolumn countercurrent processes

Countercurrent processes are carried out in multicolumn or in multisectional units. Every section (or column) is used for accomplishing one of the operations constituting the whole process. Units are fed the various corresponding solutions while ion exchanger is circulating between them. As a consequence, countercurrent processes are much more easily automated. [Pg.81]
