Multi-bladed stirrer

Method 2. The resin was dispersed quickly with a high speed, multi-bladed stirrer, then agitated slowly until the polymer dissolved. The time necessary ranged from a few minutes to 8 hours. This method is preferred since it produces higher viscosity solutions. 

Agitation of the reaction mass is usually by means of a multi-bladed stirrer, preferably driven via a variable speed gear box.
