From a practical point of view, direct numerical solutions of the RRPA equations on an energy grid sufficiently fine to produce the theoretical profiles shown is prohibitively expensive. To circumvent this limitation, the multichannel quanturn-defggt theory (MQDT) is used in conjunction with the RRPA equations to give the theoretical cross-sections. The MODT parameters, which are slowly varying functions of energy, are computed at only a few points and Interpolated. These parameters are then used in a standard MODT analysis to determine the resonance structures shown in the bottom panels of Fig. 7. [Pg.166]
