Mouse models streptozotocin

In this study, a streptozotocin induced diabetic mouse model was appUed to evaluate the feasibility of using chitosan hydrogel as an immunoisolative barrier for xenogenetic islet transplantation without immunosuppression. Our hypothesis was that islets could be protected from the attack of recipient immune system when encapsulated in chitosan hydi ogel and the assmnption was demonstrated.
