Morphological stability, molecular glasses

The molecular structure and morphology of individual polypropylene resins can be readily modified at the reactor stage via new catalyst systems. Postblends of available resins with various additives promote impact resistance, controlled rheology, thermal stability, and other desirable characteristics of the polymer matrix. The incorporation of chemical coupling agents and mineral-filler or glass-... [Pg.568]

Scanning dectron microscope studies indicate that polyether/PMMA/Li salt blends have a microphase separated morphology with the PMMA well dispersed in sizes of 2-20 /xm (11). The effect of the molecular weight of the components on the "window of compatibility" is known from the literature for polymer blends such as poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)/PMMA (9-12). The blending of PMMA with the polyeth was found to stabilize the electrolyte against moisture uptake and provide adhesion to a glass substrate. [Pg.54]
