MORE ABOUT EYE AND FACE PROTECTION

Preview This section describes various kinds of eye protection needed in advanced labs. 

While using a fluorescent stain in the cytogenetics lab, I felt something splash up into my eye. I was not wearing safety glasses or goggles. 

What lessons can be learned from this incident  

Section 7.1.1 has already introduced the rule always wear chemical splash goggles in labs where chemical are used. This section will consider situations where perhaps less eye protection is needed and situations where more eye protection is smart. But first let s review the central argument for chemical splash goggles.
