Another major producer of pyrites in Fascist Europe was Montecatini of Italy. In 1888, they began mining pyrites in Tuscany at Val Di Cecina, near the spa of Montecatini. Their major pyrites mines were Gavoranno, Ravi and Boccheggiano in Tuscany (650,000 toimes per year) Agardo in Bellimo (30,000 toimes per year) and Brosso in Piedmont (35,000 toimes per year). By 1910, Montecatini controlled all pyrites production in the country. [Pg.26]
