Molybdenum, in milk

Since studies bearing on the role of molybdenum in milk xanthine oxidase have depended heavily on the EPR method, it is convenient to precede detailed discussion by a general description of the various molyb-denum(V) EPR signals which have been obtained from the enzyme. 

Molybdenum can cross the placental barrier. High levels of molybdenum in the diet of the mother can increase the molybdenum concentration in the liver of the neonate [26]. The level of molybdenum in milk is also influenced by the level of dietary molybdenum [9].
